Future generation

In KLTK’s statutes from 1896, it is written, that one of our main target is to develop good tennis players. We have done so ever since. Already at the London Olympics in 1908, members of the club won medals. Since then, a large number of members have triumphed in the Grand Slams, Davis Cups and ATP Tournaments.

600 in programs

The foundation for this is our own junior program, with more than 600 kids in different training programs. Most of them will develop in to good athletes, a few to good tournament players, and last but not least, occasionally to great professional tour players.

Integration project

KLTK does not just focus on the club and its members. We also want to be an active player in the communities in which we operate and we want to engage ourselves where we think we are doing well. We are confident that KLTK can use the sport of tennis, which we love, to contribute to a better society for many. Through various activities, we run an integration project for young people. We believe that sport is an excellent tool to bring children and young people closer together.

The club’s coaches, led by Aftab Baig, visit schools and preschools in order to introduce tennis. We offer a few fun hours of entertainment, and then we leave them the equipment for the kids to use after we leave.

Wimbledon Junior Initiative

AELTC at Wimbledon is our role model, as they have worked for many years to introduce tennis to areas where it is not a natural choice. The project in London has been very successful and groundbreaking.

We have closely studied the Wimbledon junior project and see that we can be at least equally beneficial to the sport of tennis in Stockholm. The Englishmen’s project, which goes by the name WJIT (Wimbledon Junior Tennis Initiative), has so far introduced tennis to 150,000 children. No less than 4,000 of these have since received a scholarship to train further in the club’s trial project.
