Soon the first ball will be struck at this year’s Kungens Kanna & Drottningens Pris; it will be exciting to see how our Swedish players stand up to fierce foreign competition.

Näsbyparks TK’s Elwin Gauffin is an interesting player who has started the year brilliantly, and he has been stacking up the trophies recently. He has won SALK Open, triumphed in a Tennis Europe tournament and is currently getting ready for the semi-finals at the XL Bygg Open, the Tennis Europe Junior Tour event in Trollbäcken, just outside of Stockholm. Elwin along with Jeiden Saidizand, Upsala TK and Eldin Nokic, Åby TK also played well in the Winter Cups but fell just short of qualifying for the finals.

The 14-year-old girls recently participated in the Tennis Europe Winter Cups finals and finished in 6th place. Agnes Mitteregger, Nadia Mezan and present Sweden number one and SALK Open winner Johanna Bernhold, IS Göta, will all be fanny to keep an eye on.

In total, 11 Swedish boys and as many girls get the chance to play the main draw, among these we are hoping for some pleasant surprises.

We are hopeful for success at home, here at the Royal Tennis Club of Stockholm.
