What an exciting day of closely contested matches we’ve witnessed at the Kungens Kanna & Drottningens Pris in the Royal Tennis Hall.

On Thursday, prestigious spots in the quarterfinals and the traditional The Last Eight Club were on the line. Eight girls and eight boys have now advanced in the tournament. Several matches went the distance in three sets, leaving no doubt that the stakes were high.

First out among the Swedish players was Vega Bontin (Helsingborgs TK), who started her match convincingly by taking the first set. Her opponent, however, fought back to level the match. In the decisive set, Vega demonstrated both mental strength and tactical maturity, raising her level to secure an impressive victory.

Next up was Enzo Brito, who also earned a place in the quarterfinals. After a demanding match, he reflected on his performance:
“It was a tough match. I fought hard and never gave up, so I’m very proud of myself.”

With these results, we are delighted to confirm that two Swedish players have advanced to the quarterfinals, one on the girls’ side and one on the boys’ side.

Thursday also brought a major surprise from Liam Sharkey of Great Britain. After dropping the first set against the tournament’s top seed Anastasis Mosaikos, he turned the match around with remarkable determination to win in three sets. Eva Maria Bulai also had to work hard against wildcard entrant Eduarda Gomes from Brazil, ultimately prevailing in a well-fought three-set match.

On Friday, the quarterfinals take center stage and the prestigious The Last Eight Club, honoring players for their achievements so far in the tournament.

In addition to singles, quarterfinal matches in doubles were completed on Thursday, with semifinals scheduled for Friday. Matches begin at 10:30 AM, starting with the girls, followed by the boys’ quarterfinals. Semifinals in both girls’ and boys’ doubles will follow.
