All first-round matches in both singles and doubles have now been completed in this year’s edition of Kungens Kanna & Drottningens Pris.

We are delighted that three more Swedish players have advanced to the second round in singles, ensuring a continued strong Swedish presence in the tournament.

Vega Bontin (Helsingborgs TK) displayed both maturity and tactical skill, controlling her match to secure progression. “It was a fun match with many close points. I really had to think of a way to win, so it was a very instructive match,” says Vega Bontin.

Following this, one of the day’s biggest surprises unfolded. Stephanie Degac (Båstads TS) defeated the tournament’s second seed, Lilly Falkenberg from Switzerland, in an impressive performance. “I thought it was a good match for me. I stayed calm the entire time, so I’m very pleased,” says Stephanie Degac.

Shortly after, Enzo Brito (Staffanstorps TK) clinched the match against Richard Mitchell from Switzerland, securing his place in the next round.

Another standout performance came from KLTK’s own Benedicte Lindorff, who pushed Maya Micheva to a second-set tiebreak and produced several high-level rallies. Despite a strong effort, she was defeated, but her performance promises great things for the future.

On the boys’ side, the day’s upset saw Brazil’s Arthur Manchon de Oliviera Moraes defeat second seed Jonas Waelti from Switzerland with 6-4, 6-4.

Several doubles matches have also been decided. Enzo Brito continues his strong run, advancing to the second round alongside Anastasis Mosaikos from Cyprus. Vincent Berta and Knut Nyström also move forward after a solid performance. On the girls’ side, it’s great to see the Swedish pair Signe Bergqvist and Antonia Mossberg advance, along with Vega Bontin and her partner Eduarda Gomes from Brazil.

Tomorrow promises plenty of excitement, with many Swedish players still in the draw and several highly anticipated matches on the schedule. Play begins at 10:30.

In the evening, a Players Party will be held in the Restaurant starting at 18:30, featuring a taco dinner and entertaining activities, providing a fun and festive highlight to the tournament week.
