Now, all second-round matches have been played. On Thursday, the tournament continues with the third round in singles, as well as the quarterfinals in doubles for both boys and girls.
The action on Court 1 kicked off with Vega Bontin (Helsingborgs TK) delivering a highly solid performance, securing a 6-2, 6-1 victory. She was followed by Enzo Brito (Staffanstorps TK), who quickly took control of his match with aggressive and focused play. Brito’s opponent eventually had to retire due to illness, allowing Brito to advance to the third round. This means that two Swedish players are now through in singles, both aiming for a spot in the quarterfinals and The Last Eight Club.
The tournament’s top seeds also made their mark: Eva Maria Bulai from Romania and Anastasis Mosaikos both advanced in straight sets, reinforcing their strong positions in the competition.
Bianca Fagerlund (Näsbyparks TK) and Stephanie Degac (Båstad TS) delivered impressive performances in closely contested three-set matches, where small margins ultimately determined the outcome. Despite their strong play, they narrowly missed out on progressing further.
Several doubles matches were also played during the day, with eight pairs now advancing in the tournament. Among them are Vega Bontin and her doubles partner Eduarda Gomez, as well as the Swedish duo Vincent Berta and Knut Nyström. On Thursday, the doubles quarterfinals for both boys and girls will take place.
The day concluded with this year’s Players Party, featuring a classic Swedish taco buffet and entertainment from a magician. The relaxed atmosphere gave players a chance to unwind and recharge ahead of the upcoming matches.
