One of the world’s greatest junior competitions for under-14 players, which would have been played in Stockholm at The Royal Tennis Hall from 26th of February to 6th of March, is most likely, moving to a new date.

Current restrictions do not allow any junior tournaments in Sweden, and The Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not allow players from all nations to travel into Sweden. Under these circumstances, it’s impossible to organise the event on the set dates.

Organisers, the Swedish Tennis Federation and The Royal Tennis Club of Stockholm are now talking with Tennis Europe to find a possible alternative date in November, which has become possible thanks to the tournament’s presenting partner Elite Hotels.

– Disappointing news after all the preparations and efforts from club staff and tournament volunteers. We might be able to execute in November, so hope is not lost, says Tournament Director Joe Beaton.

The French Tournament Les Petits As in Tarbes and Kungens Kanna & Drottningens Pris are seen as the two major tournaments on the Tennis Europe Junior Tour. The French competition plans to go ahead for the 40th time from the 24th to the 30th of January. Kungens Kanna has been played since 1901 and Drottningens Pris since 1950.
