After his impressive performance at Wimbledon, where he reached the Juniors singles final, Yaroslav Demin has become the new world No. 1 on the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors rankings.

The 17-year-old earned the No. 1 position on July 17th, 2023, after his great achievements at The Championships. Worth mentioning, this was only his second tournament on grass after playing in Roehampton the week before. In the final of Wimbledon, Demin faced the same opponent who defeated him in the first round in Roehampton, Henry Searle from Great Britain. Unfortunately for Demin, Searle got the best of him this time as well. However, this did not change the fact that Yaroslav was the new junior world No. 1.

The finalist of Kungens Kanna 2019, Yaroslav Demin, left a big impression during the tournament, not only due to his great tennis skills and fighting spirit but also because of his charismatic character. Although he did not make it all the way, it was still a great week for the young star, and his continued hard work at the Rafael Nadal Academy keeps on paying off.

Apart from his success at The Championships, Demin teamed up with his doubles partner, Rodrigo Pancheco Mendez from Mexico, and secured a victory in the French Open Juniors doubles championship, along with other great results both on the ITF Junior and ITF Tour.

For the rising star, this is just the beginning. Demin mentioned on Rafael Nadal Academy’s Instagram that his next goals are to win a Junior Grand Slam title at the US Open (scheduled from September 3 to September 9, 2023) and ultimately become a top-level professional player. We look forward to following his journey and wish him good luck at the US Open.
