Ten years after participating in Kungens Kanna, Casper Ruud broke new ground last week at the Miami Open as he reached his first ATP Masters 1000 final.

In the final Ruud lost to Carlos Alcaraz by 5–7, 4–6. With his victory in the semis, Norway became the 33rd country to be represented in a Masters 1000 final. Ruud is also the first Scandinavian to advance to a final since Swede Robin Soderling in Paris in 2010.
